This is a very sturdy desk. It weights a ton (Actually a little over 100 pounds). It is very well packaged, it would be hard to damage the desk parts in transit. Due to its weight, I disassembled the package in our driveway and brought in the MANY pieces in batches. The pieces are well-labeled, only a few not labeled, but they were easy to identify. IMPORTANT: Read the instructions carefully. If you think, for example, that an arrow is unimportant, re-read it until you understand it. There are few words, so paying attention to the drawings is critical. If you do this, the desk is fairly easy to assemble, just take your time. I made one mistake, but easily found a way to resolve the issue. Also, assemble it near where you want to place the finished desk. It's weight makes it awkward to move. I started it one evening and finished it the next morning. My guess is that it took about 4 hours. Well worth the effort, and almost fun to assemble, if you know its going to take some time. The drawers are roomy and solid. It does not look like nor is it built like a cheap desk.
